What's on Screen : The Munsters

It's been a while. I know that there's no excuse for it. But life hasn't really been easy lately. There's been a lot going on that's been stressful.

But you don't want to hear about any of that. More importantly I don't want to write about it currently.

Instead I want to give a note about something I watched recently.

So I finally got to watch the most recent incanation of The Munsters. I was hopeful about watching it, and honestly looked forward to it. The Munsters is actually one of the few shows I hunted down all of on DVD (I am still missing season one of the Addams Family B&W show).

But I must admit that I was dissapointed. The movie lacked substance, and didn;'t have any real resolution.

The movie seemed to go about how Lily and Herman met. But the whole movie seemed to lack the heart of the original show. The sets were goirgeous, the costumes were fun, and the makeup was amazing. There were even script throwbacks to important statements from the original show.

But it dissapointed me. I don't know if it's because I haven't had a reason to watch any new movies in a long time. Or if it is because I honestly expected more.

I'm crying as I write this. I don't know why.

All I know is that I expected something more... The whole movie could have been reduced to a half hour and not lost anything.

I'm sorry, but as much as I wanted to enjoy it. I didn't.

Would I watch it again?

Maybe. But not alone.

Would I buyy it on DVD?

Only to add it to the collection if it was cheap enough. Which isn't a good reason.

So while I enjoyed the original show, this movie didn't bring me any joy.

Mixed Media Monday : Films

What can I say? I like to watch movies. Partially because if I can't focus on it I can rewatch it again at home. Most of the movies in todays update are ones that I saw a million years ago. But the Are You Afraid of the Dark? one is one that I am loking forward to watching when I have a chance to watch it.

I don't have a lot ot say at the moment. But what I will say is that I am very tired. All the time.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Curse of the Shadows
Junior
Twins
Kindergarten Cop
Son in Law

Mixed Media Monday : Let's Play Games!

We love to play games when we have the time to. But it's been brought to our attention that it can be hard to play games or plan to play games if no one knows what kind of options are available. So with that in mind I've decided to add a game library section. It may take a while for me to do,, since I am honestly not feelling wello f late. I spent the majority of Sunday sleeping and trying to recouperate.

I over did it on saturday. But it was fun to see some of my friends. We haven't seen each other in eons.

Jasmine Becket-Griffeth : Wood Nymph

Ok. So for now here's the games that I took to my S.O.s house when his best friend was up to visit. (Only because I am putting them away so they're easily available).

What these particular games have in common is they're all card games. In honesty my favorite games to play if it's a short window are card games. Generally they don't require a lot of attention and have quick play through.

Batman Fluxx
Batman Love Letter
Disney Villains Gathering of the Wicked
Dungeon Mayhem
Munchkin
Munchkin Christmas Lite
Weed

Anyway, have a great week!

Media Monday : A Mixed Bag

We've made it to another week! Huzzah! I hope that your world is starting to feel less dismal. SAD is a real thing, an dit's ok to have trouble making  it through this dismal time of year. AKA FAKING IT sucks, but sometimes we gotta do it.... I admit to be faking happiness frequently of late. But you know what? Pretending to be something, reminds me that at some point I was happy. It's not impossiblee that it will happen again. It just really feels like that day is very far away right now.

Media Monday : Is it really a Holiday?

I heard that it's Valentine's Day. Not really my favorite holliday....But there are lots of people who enjoy it. In any case I'm sure you've noted a change in what we're doing on Monday.

While I enjoy curating Music Monday lists, I haven't had the heart to do it in a while. So instead I've decided I can use Mondays to make the adjustments to the Movie collection list. Making it easier to find what has been recently added to the list.

Jasmine Becket-Griffith "A Dragonling Valentine"

And while thee movies being added today are not in season right now. It's still nice to know that I've added some different family friendly films to my collection. If you've already scrolled down further I'm sure you've realized that the recent additions are all Christmas themed. Not a bad thing, but possibly a bit out of character for me. But hey... that's ok.

Casper's Haunted Christmas
Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas
I'll Be Home For Christmas
Mickey Saves Santa
The Santa Clause
Santa Clause 2
Santa Clause 3 The Escape Clause

Well I guess that's all I have for right now. I'm working on figuring out what the best course of action is going to be. So stay tuned, and have a fabulous week!
