Autism Awareness Month

What is Autism? We hear about it a lot. But what is it really? It's a very complex disorder, which varies from person to person. But it is at it's core a disorder that affects the social behaviors of a person. There are vast differences in how drastic autism can be, so you can't really judge and compare one case with another.

April has been Autism awareness month, and I hope this isn't the first time this month you've seen something about it. You may know someone that has autism, and not even know it.

For further information please see the following:

(( Sorry Esme that this is so late in the month, I thought it had published earlier in the month, but I Clearly have been away from the desktop more than I should be, many apologies Hun.))

Kick Butts Day

Today is Kick Butts Day! What does that mean? Well, it means that today is a day to raise awareness about youth smoking, and help teens and youth see the toll it takes on them and the environment. There are a number of ways that you can help to raise awareness about the negative effects of tobacco products. So why not take a chance at trying to hep someone realize the negative impact that their bad habit has not only on themselves but also the people that are around them.

The Kick Butts Day Website is full of activities, ideas and facts to help you look at the day and maybe plan your own awareness moments. They don't necessarily have to happen today. After all any day is a good day to take a step in a healthier direction.
