I Think People are Good

People in general mean well when they do most things. Sometimes what they do is for the wrong reasons, but I feel that most people do things with the best of intentions in mind.

I believe just because someone makes a mistake doesn’t mean that we should turn our back on them. I also believe that if they’re misguided enough to continue repeating said mistake, they need better guidance. Which means that I wish they wouldn’t bother asking me anymore because it hurts when they keep asking for more….sometimes there’s just no more to give.

I believe also that some people will say they love you just so that they can have the high of someone saying that they love them. I believe that most people have no idea what it is that they’re committing themselves to when they use that statement.

People, on the mass scale, are a large group of separate individuals that make one thing; a population. This population is never going to truly see eye to eye on all fronts. But they always desire the same liberties and respect.

I believe people are good. I believe that people can change. I believe that even when they do something wrong it is still with the best of intentions and there is always a good thing that comes with a bad thing. Whether it’s the fact that people band together in compassionate support, or if they dissolve a false union, there is good in each action, no matter how superficial it may seem.

People just can’t see eye to eye because no one can truly understand anyone else. Even in a one on one relationship, there is no way at all that they can really understand each other.

So I guess my opinion in a round about way is that people need to be more open minded and patient. They need to try and look at things from a more multifaceted viewpoint, they need to try and understand the fact that they can’t understand everything, and they need to trust people as well as care for them, because deep down everyone is good.

People are inherently good.
