The Most Beautiful Thing

Every day of our lives we interact with people that are different than us. No matter how different they are they should be granted the same respect that you look for yourself. Today is Disability Awareness Day (at least in the UK it is, so it's just as good for the rest of us to look at the day too!) So I wanted to share this video with you, because it spoke very loudly to me.

I also wanted to share an old article I read that made me smile, feel a little sad, but smile because of how bold and honest the writer was. https://specialolympicsblog.wordpress.com/2012/10/23/an-open-letter-to-ann-coulter/ I think it's impressive that he was willing to stand up for what was right, even though the person who it was directed to might not react positivly. You may also want to read this other letter because it's http://www.denverpost.com/2008/08/31/using-the-word-retard-to-describe-me-hurts/ honest as well.

All in all, I'm not looking to make a huge statement. All I want is to help you open your mind to look outside your comfort zone.

We're all different, some of us just have differences that have to be looked at with different eyes.

Love each other.

Just Visiting : Wild Renn Fest

I want to share an event that sounds like fun, which I have had a chance to attend once in the past. The Wild Renn Fest at Hawk Creek.

Held at Hawk Creek in East Aurora this family friendly event is both educational and entertaining. Held on two weekends this year, July 15 and 16 and July 22 and 23, you can enjoy a variety of activities as well as see over 100 different wild animals at the facility. Please be aware that the event has a small window in which it operates from 11 am through 4 pm on the stated days.

There will be a flying bird show, as well as up-close animal encounters. Jarod Miller Animal Exploration will be at the event as well. If you feel inclined to dress up, do so. This event is important as it's one of their biggest fundraisers during the year.

The event features Medieval Games, and opportunities for various members of the family to enjoy challenging activities. In the past when I have had a chance to attend they've had live shows with music, as well as challenging scavenger hunts designed to help educate children and adults alike.

For more information you can contact Hawk Creek at 716 652 8646, as well explore information available on their website. www.hawkcreek.org

Spoon In Pudding

This is a poem that I wrote at the Albright Knox when I was visiting there in 2008. It was inspired by a few real life problems, rather things that I felt were problems. Nut anyway, hope you get a giggle out of it. It's a lot different than some of my more recent writing, but I think you might get an idea about the way I was feeling then and the things that were bothering me.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Spoon in Pudding"

Bite Your tongue
turn off the tv
and listen to me
you need to do laundry
the rugs need cleaned
and you're sitting there playing Halo 3

I know it's your hobby
but darling you know
i hate the way your sloppy
in my domain, my home

you try to claim sanctuary
and hide in your room
but i swear am gonna make you
eat the friggin broom

i know your friend's on your side
of course they're on yours
they say you're being taken for a ride
but your mother's on my side

she says you need to clean up
you need to take a break
before i put that Xbox
through our front window
and your neck in a brace

what's that you're done playing?
your mom's at the door?
good riddance to that damn thing
it's going to the kids next door.

Just Visiting : Pirate Festival

Hopefully you're not all worn out from the 4th of July happenings that happened earlier in the week, because we have a great event to share with you today. Held in Krull Park, Olcott, NY, the Pirate Festival is a great family friendly event full of shows, music, and experiences for everyone to enjoy.

This three day event is a lot of fun, with a great family friendly atmosphere.

The event as a whole goes from July 7 through July 9, 2017. It's got a variety of different activities that people can enjoy. They have some rides, or I believe they did last year. They have food vendors. If you've got a car enthusiast in your home, the car show may appeal to you. There's also live music to enjoy.

Pirate Parade on Saturday July 8th. They start lining up fairly early. Costumes are encouraged, and you have a great time if there's something

If you have any questions about the event feel free to call 716 778 8531 for more information. This is the number provided by the festival.

Music Monday : A little Bit of Alice

There's a lot of things about Alice in Wonderland throughout the world. Art, music, and film. People collect things that are Alice in Wonderland theme, and music is one of the things I like to collect. I am definitely excited to share. These songs aren't necessarily the same songs most people would pick, but they're the ones I picked.

Have a ton of fun and please stay safe if you're celebrating this week. Stay safe and stay magical.

The Cure - The Caterpillar

Middle Of The Road - Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum

Egypt Central - White Rabbit

Tarja - Poison

DNCE - Cake By The Ocean
