Let's be honest, the fact that theatres have been closed for a long time has been difficult on the film industry. But I'm not entirely certain what the limited release of films on online platforms is going to do to the industry as a whole. Will it force people to join the platforms? I'm not certain. Will it increase digital piracy? Not certain of that either.
Wonder Woman 1984 was originally supposed to be released in theaters. I know it should have released earlier in 2020, because at Spirit Halloween the new costumes based on the new film, were available for purchase. Which was odd considering the release of the movie had been delayed and pushed back a number of times.
The movie was good though. The imagery, the pacing, the vibrancy. It was fabulous.
And I loved that they included so much. They give her a core. Make her "human" rather than just a "superman".
