Music Monday (late) : Looking For Someone

We all have those moments when we don't know what to do anymore. There's an emptiness somewhere inside that we are hoping to fill, but nothing seems to fit. Maybe you're feeling hollow, or lost, or... afraid. But it will be ok. Don't give up, take a step forward, or a few steps back, reassess what you are doing. It may not be what you hoped for, but that doesn't mean that giving up is going to help right now.

Giving up is the last thing that we should be doing right now. Even if all you do is start with the people and places around you, there are things you can influence.

Don't let your current problems stop you from trying to move forward. Take each day as a new chance to go forward, and learn from the things troubling you.

You can do it.

Music Monday : Something a Little Different

To be perfectly honest, I haven't been writing much because I don't have much to write about. Life is going on as it can, though there are a number of changes since Corona has been on the stage. Work itself is a bit frustrating, but my physical health today actually forced me to stay home. (High pain level = a big nope as far as going in)

But how about some music? Today am sharing some I found while going down the youtube rabbit hole last week. Not all of it is similar to the types of music you may be accustomed to seeing me share.

I hope your Monday went better than mine.

The Regrettes : I Love Us

Princess Nokia : Sugar Honey Iced Tea

She & Him : I Could've Been Your Girl

It's not Monday, but Why not?

Let me be honest. Yesterday I had good intentions to start getting a schedule back on track. That kind of didn't  happen though because I went to work (late>.> long story), and came home and basically passed out. was I overtired? I don't know. But It's kind of a thing that happens sometimes. I should be used to it by now.

Anyways, I will say wearing my mask for a full work day (which isn't even that long for me) is going to take some getting accustomed to. But it is something that needs to be done in order to keep myself and other safe.

All in all I just want to say if you're having a hard week I'm sorry. I hope that it gets better. Make sure you eat some food. Drink water. Stay hydrated. Wear your mask when you go out. Be safe. Call someone if you have a chance, because people need checked on now and then especially now.

I am trying to get myself resorted and reorganized. There's just so much going on, and yet nothing going on at the same time. Most events I would usually attend during the year have already been cancelled. So I'm regrouping and trying to decide the best ways to do so. I miss everyone like crazy though.

Most important thing though : BE SAFE.

Music Monday : I've been Off Track

I know I haven't been posting as much as I would like to. I could try to come up with some excuse. Or I could be honest and tell a long story about everything that's been going on. But what's the point? Everyone is having a hard time right now, and comparing troubles isn't going to help anyone.

But we've made it through this month just about. That's something to celebrate right? All we can do is hope for good things to come. I hope you're all safe and that you're able to stay that way.

Music Monday : Another Monday

It's another Monday. The days roll past mostly without events changing. I don't even want to talk about it anymore. There's nothing to talk about. I don't even really have inspiration to come up with a positive statement or thought this morning.

All we can do is keep going. That's what we need to do. Keep going.

I hope you're safe. I hope you're healthy. I hope you'll be with me when this is all said and done.

Music Monday: This Again Already?

The weeks seem to be going in a haze. It's hard to know what the day really is anymore. It's absolutely crazy. Are we going back to work soon? Are we stuck home for more time? Are we going to have anything better than the void we have been trapped in for... weeks now? Does anyone really know?

I don't know. I'm sorry I don't have any answers for the questions I ask at times. But we're all still floating along, and that's all we can do right now. Keep going. Just because we don't know doesn't mean we have to stop.

Music Monday : Hold On

It's hard. I know it's been slow, things aren't necessarily perfect anywhere right now. But everyday is a chance to exist. If all we do is that, we can get through it. We just need to hold on. I know it is hard. It is really, really hard.

But hold on just the same. It will end eventually. We'l make it through to the other side, we just have to make it past this first. Take each day one at a time. It's a little easier than projecting and hoping that the furthest point out is going to be when things go back to the usual. I know it isn't something people want to hear, but it won't go back to the way it was. Not entirely at least. So we're going to need to find a new normal. Which is going to take time.

I'm still feeling nostalgic. So I'm still playing miscellaneous music that  brings a smile to my face, and helps break up the silence of the day. There's too much silence when you're alone. As crazy as that sounds, being alone is way too quiet for me. It lets my mind wander to places it shouldn't. SO here's to holding on and getting past this period of time.

I hope you have a great week.

Music Monday : Re-finding My Center

It's been interesting, this isolation I've gotten almost accustomed to. It's not enjoyable to be honest, but I understand why it's being done. I've started poking around in my music collection and remembering how happy music makes me. I know I haven't been staying on the ball like I wish I could. This year... has been absolutely insane in so many ways.

So as I have been exploring my collection I have found songs that I've forgotten how much I enjoyed. So I am going to share some of those today. Some I may have shared in the past, but this is more a day to post things that have been bringing me nostalgia and happiness.

The Kooks : Naive

The Battlefield Band : The Devil's Courtship

Fall Out Boy : The Phoenix

S.J. Tuker : Cheshire Kitten

Dirty Siren : Smile

Music Monday : Can You Repeat That

The world seems to be falling apart around our ears. It's a little bit scary to be honest. But there's nothing to be done about it, other than try to take it day by day.

People are worried about getting sick. They're worried about losing their jobs. They're worried about what not working will mean when it comes to their homes. And there aren't really any answers. Not any good ones anyway.

I'm just trying to take it on a day by day basis, and try to stay as calm as possible.

Things sound impossible. Like it can't be true. But people really are losing their marbles.

But repeat after me : This too shall pass. It will end and things will go back to some version of normal again. The real question though, is what will that normal look like for most of us?

Music Monday : Gonna be Happy

I'm having a little bit of fun with this weeks selections. Mainly I wanted to pick some music that would inspire a little bit of happiness in the week. Last week was actually quite rough. So let's look into the future and think about what is available in the future. Spring is coming, and so is summer!

Not that it will be a lot of vacation fun, but it should be interesting just the same. So let's have a good week and maybe there will be something fabulous happening later this week.

Good luck and have a fabulous Monday!

Connie Francis : Vacation

Annette Funicello : Pineapple Princess

Martha and the Vandellas : Dancing in the Street

Linda Ronstadt : Heat Wave

Music Monday : What day is it?

I honestly have trouble knowing what day of the week it actually is sometimes. On days like that I can't help but feel a bit lost in time, because what am I actually getting done? Is it going to matter tomorrow?

Not sure. But apparently today is Tuesday but let's treat it as a Monday. But am only picking 3 songs. I'm not really focused currently. Sorry.

Nine Inch Nails : Closer

Marilyn Manson : Rock is Dead

Korn : Freak On A Leash

Music Monday : Movie Manic

One of the things I did this weekend was get my movies sorted and put away into one place. Mostly? Which lead me to discover that I have a few duplicates, but considering the volume and variety of movies in my collection, that isn't too bad.

Which leads me to wondering if I should make a list of the cd's that I have in my collection also. But I don't see why that would be as much of a problem. Cd's get scratched more often than my dvd's do.

In any case, I thought today it would be fun to pick songs that appear on movie soundtracks. So here's hoping you have a great week, and once I get the music list sorted out and cleaned up I will be replacing the currently active movie list here with the updated list. Alphabetized and everything, because my S.O. thinks it would be easier to reference that way.

The B-52's - Meet The Flintstones

Letters to Cleo - Dangerous Type

David Morgan : Good News

Willy DeVille : Storybook Love

Mad Monster Party : You're Different

Music Monday: It's Been A While

I know it has been a while since I have posted on a regular schedule. But I am hoping that for the time being things have been straightened out. That being said you can expect to see a variety of posts coming up throughout the year covering a variety of topics.

I decided one thing I would like to do is pull some of the book "reviews" I had posted on an old blog out, and re-share them. Most of them were posted... around 7 or 8 years ago. So, there will be a bit of variance in the tone I guess. But I think it is interesting to think about what I was reading then in comparison to what I am reading now. So those will be under the header "Bookshelf revisited".

I am also going to be writing about the unexpected vacation I took last week in the coming days, so don't be surprised to see posts about locations outside of my home area.

But today is Monday, and Mondays are for music. So without further babbling, here is the playlist for the week. I pulled the song selections from the music I have been listening to at work. So while it may seem a bit erratic, it does have a reason.

Arlo Guthrie : City of New Orleans

Anne Marie : 2002

Hootie and the Blowfish : Only Wanna Be With You

Sabrina Carpenter : Thumbs

The Cure : Just Like Heaven
